For fairer skin with cool undertones, try weaving in silver highlights and lowlights throughout to give your hair dimension without washing out your complexion. Unlike coppers and warm honey shades, cool tones last much longer and fade much slower. Just be sure to use a purple shampoo and conditioner to keep the ash tones fresh and cool.
Ash Grey Balayage
Let your loved one reunite with the family in the form of a diamond. Celebrate remarkable memories together in this festive season. Since opening in early 2016, Mare Salon has quickly risen to become one of the most sought-after salons in Los Angeles. Anderson's skin-brightening, eye-enhancing highlights are both flattering and faultless, raves makeup artist Jillian Dempsey. Embrace the beauty of an Ash Blonde Balayage V-Cut and revitalize your fine hair with this stylish and modern hairstyle.
Ash Brown Hair and Platinum Blonde Balayage
The cool shade infuses the cool tones and brings the shine back to your tresses. This super ashy look creates the illusion of light brown in certain lighting and silver in others. It's perfect for creating tons of dimension, but it works even better at covering up gray strands. The cool undertones of this light shade camouflage all traces of unruly grays to make upkeep a breeze. If your brown hair is on the lighter end of the spectrum like this look on Gigi Hadid, you can still keep your sun-kissed ends while trying out ash brown up top. Ask your colorist to incorporate more silvers and work on toning the warmer tones.
Silver ash gray
This hair color looks amazing on tons of skin tones and can be customized to suit your needs. Cool in more ways than one, ash blonde hair color is one of the most coveted blondes of all. Because, when balanced out with dark roots, it’s a shade that flatters almost everyone.
Light Ash Brown Hair with Highlights
This style is good for you to brighten up previous dull highlights. Looking for the most flattering color no matter what season you’re in? Remember to ask your stylist if this color would compliment your complexion.
Ask for cool-toned silver and grey balayage that only veers about a shade or two from your base color. Let your ash blonde hair be the star of your look by keeping your makeup subtle and sweet. If you have more than one color in your mane, Ash will be your lifesaver. Using it to cover up all highlights, and soften the overall look.
#29: Trendiest Light Ash Brown Hair
When your natural color starts to grow out, your line of demarcation will be less visible. Ash helps cool down warmth, which may be undesirable if you’re going grey and want it to blend. Getting ash highlights on dark hair doesn’t mean having to compromise on hair quality. A good stylist will keep your strands happy and healthy by lifting them just a couple tones up and neutralizing the warmth with the right toner. Try this subtle and sophisticated ashy brown ombre if you fancy adding some accents to your brunette locks. Seamless blend and just the right tone are the keys to the striking look.
Upkeep will be your most important concern so that it doesn't go brassy in between salon visits. Curls can make any hair color look instantly more exciting, and the same goes for a head full of ash grey. As we get older, hair can dry out, so curly hair will especially call for regularly adding hydrating hair masks to your hair routine for optimal bounce and body. Ash blonde is one of the coolest blondes out there, so why not take it up a notch on the cool-scale by creating an ash blonde with a gray tone. Depending on how dark the hair is when you start with it, you might need more than one application.
When an ash blonde hair color looks extra cool but still deep, we can’t help but think of rich forest mushrooms with that natural gray-beige tone. This color is exactly that, though lowlights make it more complex, while a touch of platinum gold right at the ends adds some brightness and sheen. "When choosing any hair color, it's always important to take your skin tone into account," says Rubel. Cooler colors (like ash brown) generally work best on cooler skin tones, while warmer colors are best for, you guessed it, warmer skin tones. When creating blonde shades, brown and dark hair colors need to be pre-lightened, so lift the tone with our high precision, high performance pre-lightener, Blondor Freelights. Not only does the formula allow you to lift the hair up to seven levels; it also works well when applied with a freehand technique, like babylights or balayage.
You want to remove highlights, try coloring Ash tint to become full blonde. Get the most out of this unique color for reaching the cleanest tones. If your veins have hints of pink, red or blue, you have a cool skin tone.
In order to get an ashy blonde, your colorist must lift your hair past any orange/yellow tones, as much as possible. Here, we get a beautiful platinum/ash look, with roots as bright as the rest of her color. If you have any questions about Cremation Jewelry or the process of creating cremation diamonds from ashes, please feel free to get in touch with us via the link below. Located minutes from the ocean, Ohm feels like a friend's beach house.
This wavy style and ash color will give your hair the best of both worlds with its deep brunette base and those luscious babylights! Style with flawless waves for a more accentuated and dimensional effect to the dark ash brown hair color. First, try getting one of semi-permanent direct dyes in ashy brown shade – it is a gentle, ammonia-free product, specifically designed for home use. Unlike regular box colors, it will neither damage your hair nor make your stylist frown. Another option is swapping professional products for more friendly-priced high street alternatives.
After bleaching, use an ash brown at-home hair color kit and be sure to follow the instructions included in the box. The subtle wave in this lob is oh-so-lovely, helping to soften the intensely cool and extreme ash blonde hair dye. We love the darker streaks at the middle of the hair since they are subtle enough to soften the transition to nearly-platinum ends. This is another stunning example of horizontal streaks on an ash blonde hair color, along with some thinner, vertical streaks that add their own dose of dimension. The combo of colors reminds us of white and yellow gold jewelry because of the incredible gleam. When curled, this light ash blonde colormelt looks soft and airy as a cloud, while the blended roots are a rich brown shade that adds an earthy touch.
To achieve this style without breaking traditional Asian rules and damaging hair, use Opalex product protection while bleaching. Take your natural dark locks to the next level by transitioning into an Asian Blonde ombre look for a stunning, eye-catching makeover. Gradual bleaching with Opalex product protection is recommended, and touch-ups may be necessary every few weeks. Not only will it give you a cool, modern edge, but this hue also creates an unforgettable statement that is sure to turn heads. Gradually lightening hair and using purple shampoo can help prevent brassy tones from appearing.
How to Use Balayage Highlights to Brighten Up Your Entire Face
The money piece highlights trend has been all over Instagram and TikTok and this look is perfect for Asian hair. These face-framing highlights are a great way to change up your look without dyeing all of your hair, making them a really fun and low-maintenance option to switch up your hairstyle. Follow that up with the L'Oréal Paris EverPure Sulfate-Free Glossing In Shower Acidic Glaze two to three times a week to help tone out your hair and prevent your new color from fading. Make sure to also use the L'Oréal Paris Le Color Gloss One Step In-Shower Toning Gloss every few weeks to boost your hair color and shine. Jenna Ushkowitz shows us how to rock Asian hair with highlights, so that it looks gorgeously sexy.
Effective Shampoos for Straight Hair that Add Body and Shine
Hit up the salon, since a pro colorist will have the skills to create custom highlights that are sure to suit you. Known for its perfect mix of blonde and brown highlights and lowlights, bronde hair can offer up a natural look for various skin tones. Inspired by one of our favorite fizzy drinks, champagne blonde hair features cool tones for a refreshing take on blonde hair that flatters just about everyone. If you have a warmer skin tone, think about getting warm highlights added to your champagne blonde hair for a look that flatters your complexion.
How long does it take to bleach Asian hair?
Add a touch of the color to your style by trying a strawberry blonde-inspired hair color using the L’Oréal Paris Colorista Semi-Permanent Hair Color in Pink, which is a lighter pink shade. Stark jet black is another archetypal Asian hair color, and when paired with a graphic, almost architectural haircut, achieves a coolness factor like no other. A shock of dark color in a precise shape around the face gives a distinct contrast to your facial features, so go this route if you want to show off some killer bone structure and a lovely jawline.
Short Asian hairstyles, including bob cuts, have always been extremely popular. No wonder this particular style constantly makes its way to the runways and red carpet. Tian Yuan chooses this simple yet timeless hairstyle, because it makes her look youthful and nonchalant yet classy. With a bit of setting spray, it will last the whole day, so it’s a perfect choice for a whole-day event. Wearing denim is forever in style, and now its popularity is extended to hair color.
Aimee had one side pinned behind her ear for a cool asymmetric quirk. The big flowing waves with a caramel ombre added an extra oomph to her look. Ditch the black locks and consider going grey long before you naturally would. As long as the rest of your look is kept fresh and fashion-forward, silver hair will appear young and trendy. If bold color is what you’re after, we strongly recommend you to consider this dream-like coif. Melting from black to dark purple, to icy blonde and lavender-pink, only an artist could create such magic.

The Ainu are an indigenous group that have lived in Japan for thousands of years, and a significant number of them possess blonde or light brown hair.
The petroleum jelly will act as a barrier for the skin, ensuring that dye doesn't seep in unexpectedly. Just be mindful to avoid anywhere you want the dye to stick (your hair, for instance). Hair dyes are colorants "designed to lift and change your hair color," celebrity colorist and L'Oréal Professionnel Global Ambassador Min Kim tells Seventeen.
How to remove hair dye from your hands and fingertips?
If the stain still doesn’t come off after you try at-home treatments, see a color specialist at a salon. But one of the challenges of hair dyeing is that the color can stain your forehead, neck, or hands if you aren’t careful. Continue to scrub the affected area until you notice the stain disappearing. If some hair dye remains, reapply some petroleum jelly and let it sit on the stain overnight. The sooner you remove hair dye from your skin, the easier it will be.
Exfoliating facial wash
"Baking soda is also effective [in removing dye], but it can be abrasive to the skin," says Shamban. "Alcohol can help, but it's also very drying. No matter what, always be careful not to rub your skin raw." Waterproof makeup remover is made to remove waterproof mascara, indelible lipstick, and other long-lasting cosmetics, often among the most difficult to take off.
How to remove hair dye from the hairline and face
When the dye touches the skin, "the color molecule penetrates the first layer of the skin," leaving a stain, Maxine Salon colorist Robert Bennett adds. According to Kim, it's only right to prepare for stains when dyeing, "especially with darker or more vibrant colors." Committing to dye your hair is a big one, but the results are fun. You get to pick the hair color that works best for you and showcase all your creativity and personality through your new hue. Before you panic, you should know that there are several no-fuss ways to get hair dye off your skin.
Petroleum Jelly
Just be mindful not to get the barrier cream onto the hair itself because it could prevent the dye from delivering full coverage. When trying to remove hair dye from the skin, check your skincare routine for a chemical exfoliant like a cleanser with salicylic acid or glycolic acid peel pads. Their entire purpose is to get rid of the dead cells lingering on your skin’s surface, so they should be able to help remove hair dye too. “When getting hair dye off of your skin, it’s not about the amount of pressure.
Washing your skin is the best way to go, overly vigorous scrubbing might dry the area out and make the stain even tougher to remove. Try using a makeup remover that’s safe to use on sensitive skin, such as the Lancôme Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover, on a cotton round. This makeup remover’s dual-phase formula is gentle yet effective, making quick work out of removing tough stains. But we all know that mistakes can happen, and the same holds true when you’re dying your hair.
After you're done, gently scrub the skin around your hairline one last time with a damp towel. “It’s also helpful to keep your skin as hydrated as possible before dyeing your hair, as dry skin soaks up the dye more easily,” she explains. However, hairspray is not suitable to use on all skin types, and there is no evidence to support hairspray’s use against hair dye stains, so exercise caution. Do not spray directly onto the stain as it may get into the eyes. According to some research, olive oil has stain-removing properties.

Here is a guide to safe, quick, and straightforward practices to help eliminate any signs of a stain so you can feel fabulous about your new hair. Apply baking soda and water to the stained skin to scrub away the dye. Olive oil, baby oil, and oil-based moisturizers are also effective solutions, as well as hairspray, vinegar, or a mixture of laundry detergent and dish soap.
Apply the mixture to the affected area, lather, scrub, and rinse. Just exercise caution—bleach is an extremely harsh agent that can irritate sensitive skin, harm eyes, and discolor hair. "Try a squirt of glass cleaner in your hands and rub together," says Cleveland. To recap, if you notice a hair dye stain on your skin—whether it’s your hairline or the back of your neck—there’s no reason to get worked up.
But even with the ease of using products you can find at home to remove hair dye from your skin, there are a few things to consider beforehand. Garshick says the riskiest at-home solutions for a DIY hair dye removal include the use of nail polish remover with acetone, ammonia, lemon, or baking soda in a cleansing mixture. If you’re dyeing a beard or any facial hair, she especially cautions against using baking soda, dish soap, and rubbing alcohol as they will be too harsh for sensitive skin.
Nail polish remover isn’t safe to use on your face or neck, but it can help remove stains from hands. Apply a small amount of nail polish remover to a cotton swab or cotton ball. Start by wetting your hair with the hottest water you can handle.
The best makeup removers are oil-based and do not cause irritation. These products may also be effective in removing stubborn hair dye stains, depending on the ingredients involved. Baby wipes are designed to be gentle enough to cleanse a baby's skin without irritation, so they are typically safe to use on your face to remove dirt and makeup. Depending on each product's formulation, they may also be effective in removing hair dye stains on your skin.
If you don’t have any of those items at home, you can trace around your hairline with a damp towel to clean the skin just after applying your hair dye, but be careful not to wipe any dye off of your hair. "Color or dyes of any kind can stick to dry skin like a tongue on a frozen pole," says Norris. Always use gloves and apply a barrier cream—Vaseline, shea butter lotion, lanolin, or coconut oil, for example—around the hairline and ears to reduce the possibility of staining. "If you get these creams on the hair itself, the color will not take to the hair."
However, they can be unsightly and embarrassing until they fade. You can reduce hair dye on the skin by refining your dye process to limit skin staining. Treating stains quickly with the right products can also reduce your risk of having long-term hair dye stains on your skin. A mixture of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and liquid dish soap may remove hair dye from the skin. The properties of baking soda and its slightly abrasive texture make it useful as a cleaning agent.
Though this isn't something most people have handy, it's a very effective method, says Norris. If you dye your hair frequently, consider stocking up—just in case. Since the pads have exfoliating properties, all you have to do to remove hair dye is quickly swipe the area with a pad. For really stubborn areas, mix a touch of bleach and soap (shampoo or dish soap work well).

Though it may take a few washes, some types of soap with warm water may remove hair dye, similar to the process of removing makeup, as well. Using micellar water or an oil-based cleanser before washing with soap may reduce the number of times you have to wash the affected area. Exposed areas of the skin react differently to both hair dye and stain removal options. The longer the shade sits on the skin, the longer it settles and the more difficult it is to remove, so "the best way to remove dye stains is to clean as you go to prevent staining," Thurman says.
Scrub the mixture over the dye using a circular motion and gentle pressure. Rinse the entire area with water until all the baking soda mixture is removed. Modern hair dye is extremely useful at coloring your hair, which also means that the skin on your hands and around your hairline might suffer the same fate, especially when you dye your hair at home. Removing hair dye from your scalp without stripping the color from your hair is challenging.
In this article, we’ll look at the most effective ways to remove hair dye stains from your skin, practices to avoid, and preventative steps you can take to minimize skin damage. One of the best ways to remove dye from the skin is to be sure to wipe away any drops or smudges during the coloring process. Bennett recommends grabbing a cotton pad and rubbing the stained area with a stain or dye remover. “My favorite product is Redken Stain Remover; the pads are included and already saturated, an easy all-in-one,” he explains. Makeup remover is an inexpensive way to get hair dye off the skin. Not only can it be used to clean makeup brushes, but it works very well to get hair dye stains off your skin.

There are hooded vents at the top of each door in the Lunar Duo’s rainfly, as well as plenty of airflow around the entire lower perimeter. The canopy is floating, so you can also raise or lower it to adjust how much of a gap you want between the bottom of the fly and the ground. Optimized Sleeping Area is oriented to maximize usable space, ventilation, and view.
Fabric
Condensation can get bad on humid east coast nights but in general it hasn't been a problem. The footprint is large for a 1 person tent so it doesn't always fit in spots that a smaller tent might, but it does allow plenty of room for my dog in the tent with me. ✓ 6-in mesh lining above the bathtub floor increases ventilation and keeps you further from the canopy walls, so you stay nice and dry.
Writings by Sklarek
I can recall one particularly cold night when I didn’t heed this advice and I had to use my backpack as a bivy sack for warmth when cold wind blew into my tent. At 88 inches, it has enough length to cover taller sleepers comfortably. In addition, the vestibules offer extra space to spread out or sleep diagonally, if necessary. The dual doors are super practical for two people — no need to shuffle positions or awkwardly step over someone else. I love the design, especially with all the space and easy setup. My major qualm with this setup was leakage through the material itself.
EXCELLENT VENTILATION
Used this tent for the first time on a 30-40° Fahrenheit trip in Michigan. I wouldn't recommend this tent for colder trips as the condensation on the inside ended up dripping onto us at night. There is ventilation all around the bottom of the tent so that condensation will drip down and out, but that means you're not able to keep heat inside the tent as easily. It stormed on us all night and we kept dry aside from the condensation. It's a great single layered, very light weight, easy to set up tent.
In addition, this tent is more durable than many ultralight tents, so you can count on it to last for years of adventure. One of the standout attributes of the Lunar Duo is its exceptionally spacious interior. So, if you’re tall or want plenty of elbow room to make sharing space with a partner more comfortable, this may be the perfect tent for you.
Demystifying DWR on Rain Jackets: How Does it Work?
There are many similarities between the Lunar Solo and Skyscape Trekker. Though I’ve spent a lot of time with it, getting a good pitch out of the Lunar Solo isn’t easy. Sure, it’s a cinch to stake down a couple of corners, fit the center pole, and then stake down the rest. But achieving the delicate balance of tension and slack between the initial stake points and the guylined pole can be frustrating. All in, this tarp is slightly above average for its below-average weight. Its 1.19 pounds includes the one-pound, two-ounce tarp, a stuff sack that weighs 0.6 ounces, and 0.4 ounces of additional included guy line.
The tent canopy extends well over the mesh area to prevent rain or splash from getting in. Single entry is through a zipper that opens half of the side mesh area. Listed weight is 26oz./740g not counting the pole or six stakes.
Rad Companies that Support Bikepacking
SMD sells 5-section carbon fiber poles or aluminum poles that will easily fit with your bikepacking kit. I have used the ultralight shelter in sustained 40 mph winds with higher gusts on the Pacific Crest Trail outside of Tehachapi and heavy rains in the mountains of New Mexico. The shelter’s bathtub floor forms perfectly with every pitch (no sagging corners). The vestibule is also somewhat untraditional, in that it doesn’t reach all the way to the ground, but has a gap at the bottom. This is to promote airflow in order to prevent internal condensation. It does require that you be conscious of wind direction on cool nights and that you pitch the vestibule away from the wind direction so that the breeze hits the rear of the tent instead.

Backpacking Light helps hikers and other backcountry enthusiasts overcome their barriers to living a life outside in Wild Places. Additional testing included a short trip to Yellowstone National Park, a trip in the subalpine high-country of the Bitterroot National Forest, and a three-day trek in the Pioneer Mountains of Montana. We are clearing some space for new Lunar Duo's that we expect to arrive shortly.
Once inside, ample maneuvering room allows reaching the front tent wall while sitting up. The way it works is loops near the end of the zipper slide with a prusik knot along the main front guyline that holds the center pole up. This creates the covered space and shields the interior of the tent. The adjustability is both elegant and convenient, and I end up sliding what amounts to a weather awning up and down as frequently as conditions demand. One peeve is that the hook on the line is tiny, so it is hard to catch the two equally small loops on the vestibule halves. The Six Moons Lunar Solo was the first ultralight backpacking tent I ever bought, about 13 years ago.
If you really want to drop weight and don't mind an open-ended shelter, the Hyperlite Mountain Gear Square Flat Tarp is the right move. It's not the easiest tarp to pitch, but once you do it a few times, it goes up pretty quickly with one person. Since there is a long, sloping end and a steeper end, there are color-coded webbing tabs to let you know which end is which. Erecting the trekking poles is made simpler by the easy-to-spot pole pockets in the ceiling.
Getting the right combination of factors can be very hit or miss, so your best bet is to focus on good campsite selection to compensate for a less than perfect pitch. That means pitching the tent in a well-drained spot and over porous soil or forest duff in order to avoid pooling water if it rains. If you browse the likes of Reddit and YouTube, you’ll note that the Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo is a somewhat popular shelter in the lightweight hiking community. We’ve gotten absolutely soaked with condensation in some single-wall tents. You’re gonna have that issue with pretty much any single-wall tent though, so we don’t find this to be too big a deal. We often use non-freestanding tents when we want to go as light as possible on a trip, but they can be a little intimidating if you’ve never used one.
Read on to see how the Duo stacks up against dozens of other backpacking tent designs we’ve tested over the years. Overall the tent is nice but i am 6’4” tall and my head and feet both rub up against the sides of tent. When the tent has condensation inside I can’t help but get wet trying to move around inside. I haven’t even used it yet, other than testing the setup in my backyard, but unfortunately I already seam sealed it so I can’t return it. I’m going to get an x-mid 2P tent for more space and hopefully sell this one without losing too much money on it.
If you don’t have any, the stake set costs US$13, and the seam seal service if you don’t care to do it yourself is an extra US$30. The Lunar Solo continues to be one of the best deals money can buy when it comes to ultralight 1-person tents shelters from "cottage" manufacturers. It's easy to set up, has great ventilation, and interior space for a single person and their gear.
Besides being a designated field tester, ensuring our shelters have room for a human and a mutt, he is also the first smiling face to great you at our office. Over the years we have made numerous bivy sacks, tarps, sleeping bags, jackets and other pieces of gear. Our goal at Six Moon Designs is to offer lightweight, high quality, affordable backpacking equipment. We want you to be happy with your purchases, and will stand behind our products 100%.
